You can still have a great time at Basecamp if the weather takes a turn. Our hilltop setting means the ground drains quickly, so pitches do not tend to stay soggy for long, even after heavy rain. That helps keep the site more comfortable underfoot and makes a big difference to the overall camping experience.
If you need a break from the elements, there is plenty of shelter available in The Pavilion and throughout the woodland areas. Whether you want to dry off, warm up, or simply take cover for a while, there are sheltered spaces on site to make things more comfortable.
Our activities continue as normal in wet weather, so a bit of rain does not usually stop the adventure. With waterproofs, warm layers, and sensible footwear, campers are generally well prepared for changing conditions. Many guests actually find that a little wild weather becomes part of what makes the trip so memorable.
Our team keeps a close eye on the forecast and on-site conditions, and if weather ever becomes extreme, plans are adjusted with safety and comfort in mind. So while we are very used to running great stays in typical British weather, we are never casual about genuinely severe conditions.
